Inspired by the creativity and artistic heritage of New York, BED|STÜ opened for business in a small Los Angeles warehouse in 1995. They believe in taking their time to create products that are as individual as those who wear them. They buck the trend of mass production to ensure their products are made the right way, honoring the cobbler and the craft. They will not compromise quality.

Their Organics Collection is free from harmful heavy metals, such as chrome and other dangerous chemicals. They use vegetable tanned leathers prepared in a pre-industrial old world environmentally friendly way using tree bark, leaves, plants, and other organic elements.

They use natural organic components in their finished products- vegetable tanned leather, natural latex rubber, biodegradable supports, and water based glues and dyes with limited exceptions, such as poly cotton threads for durability.
