Its breathable, abrasion-resistant nubuck leather upper with 0.4mm thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) protective film is built to withstand extended exposure to harsh conditions, while the extended lacing system with 6mm tubular laces helps provide a secure, adjustable fit. The stable construction handles heavy loads with confidence, supported by a compressed ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) midsole that offers lasting cushioning and support and a carbon fibre midsole shank that adds the stiffness and stability needed when carrying gear over uneven ground, scree and snow. Improved heel hold promotes precise foot placement while helping reduce friction and the risk of blisters during demanding approaches. The durable water repellent (DWR)-coated, over-lasted construction wraps the midsole in an abrasion-resistant compound for enhanced durability, while the Vibram® XS Flash 2 rubber outsole delivers reliable grip across varied terrain. Its dual-purpose lugged design features a forefoot climbing zone optimized for smearing on rock slabs, along with dedicated heel traction for secure footing when hiking downhill. Finished with a leather insole and leather/textile lining, the Konseal combines climbing precision, underfoot support and rugged protection for technical approaches where reaching the climb is a challenge in itself.
