Celine began as a made-to-measure children's footwear boutique in Paris in 1945. Founded by Céline Vipiana and her husband, Richard, the brand expanded beyond shoes with a line of leather goods and accessories, followed by a ready-to-wear sportswear collection in the 1960s. The brand later introduced jewelry, eyewear, and fragrance collections.

Celine quickly became known for its Parisian-chic style made of the highest quality materials. To this day, the brand is known for its clean simplicity and minimalistic aesthetic.
