This is a great rain coat! It fits true to size. The arms are a tad bit long but when it is pouring out I appreciate that feature. The coat looks great - tailored but not too tight - casual but also professional looking for its simple design.

Bought this jacket for a trip to Alaska, and it was perfect. It is long enough to cover my back side, has a detachable hood, and is a good final layering piece. It is stylus, classic, and I can see wearing it forever. The fabric is water proof (we were caught in rain), but is not particularly warm. Will need a sweater underneath for chilly climates. I ordered a Large so that I can layer it. I would say it runs true to size. Love the way the waist can be cinched front the inside. Definitely recommend even though the price almost stopped me.

I absolutely love this rain jacket! I bought the XS size and it fits me snugly and flatters my body. I really wish North Face had more colors in this. I totally recommend. It is true to its size, so if you want a looser fit, size up.

This jacket is well made and mostly, but a bit thicker than what I was looking for. I was looking for a non-insulated rain jacket that I could layer under if need be, but that would otherwise be light enough to wear during warm temperatures and while commuting by bicycle. First off, I have a hard time spending this much on a rain jacket. Sure, it seemed sturdy (though a bit stiff and crinkly) and might have lasted a while...but I just can't do it. Maybe if I had loved it. I ordered an XS in the navy and am 5'1", 107 pounds. It was still roomy enough to fit a jacket or sweater under, though it still was a bit overwhelming (probably because of my height). The two things that helped me make my decision were 1. the length, and 2. the hood. For whatever reason previous pictures of the jacket in other colors (now not shown) gave me the impression that the hood was detached from the collar, but this is not the case. Unless you want to take the hood off, it remains attached to the collar. I find this uncomfortable because it pulls the collar back, especially if you want to zip the jacket up most of the way. I instead decided to get the Marmot PreClip Jacket (which seems longer than other short rain jackets, especially on my frame) and simply pair it with rain pants if need be.

This is perfect for travel because it takes no space in a suitcase. I used a waterproof black marker to obliterate the camouflage lining of the front flap so that I can use it as a black jacket for dressy as well as casual occasions to keep packing down - this works! It runs small (am 5'6 and 120 pounds) so traded in an S for a M to allow room for at least a light sweater under. Also, the waistline falls about an inch above the actual waist - initially a problem but am getting used to it.
