These are fabulous and worth every penny. I've been wearing Brooks Adrenaline's, and I was reluctant to change shoes, but the Solomans are exactly what I've been looking for in a trail runner. The toe is reinforced, the shoe is very comfy right out of the box. I need the arch support and stability for overpronating, and this shoe provides everything for my bad feet. The only downfall is I haven't figured out how to get the extra lacing into the "pocket" provided.

I've had these shoes for several months now, and I'm still happy with them overall. I wear 5.5 or 6, but I had to order a 5 which is rare. I love the color combo (mostly all black with a bit of neon pink and turquoise). I also love how stylish and cushiony they are, and I wear them for many different types of occasions. The lace-up system is great as well even if they're a little too long. On the flip side, I'm still not used to the slight stiffness and clunkiness of the mid/outer soles for jogging. My feet tend to sweat a lot, especially when wearing them for long periods. They also get wet from rain as they aren't waterproof, but they seem to dry off well. I paid way too much for these trail runners, but they seem more rugged than many other sneakers that fall apart in a few months.

Love these shoes! I usually wear the Salomon XA's but I decided to change it up. These are great and I feel they offer more support in the heel area. They have great pronation control and my feet feel stable running, walking, and doing various workout classes. Would definitely recommend these! I knew my size in Salomon shoes already, which is a 7; however, in other shoes I'm usually a 7.5.

These shoes are great if you need a good arch support with added stability. They are also really cool-looking and the lacing system provides a custom fit. I use my custom orthotic with these - have lots of foot issues, but this shoe feels great and hugs my foot while I run/walk. I highly recommend it.

This is my first pair of Salomons. I love the look and feel of these shoes. I have somewhat wide feet and these feel great. Toebox is wide, so no scrunching together of my toes.

Fair warning: I only run in Salomon, so I am obviously a fan and have little comparison to other brands. It's been years since I ran in other brands, so all I can compare these to are other Salomon trail running shoes. I'm on my second pair of these and just ordered my third. I run on trails in the PNW and used to always have wet feet barely a mile out. Not anymore. I can go through wet sod, mud and the occasional puddle without getting my feet wet. Love these runners. I can't use them in the summer as they are too hot, but they are perfect for the rainy fall, winter, spring here in Seattle. I have great grip and support, but light enough to not feel weighed down. Don't get me wrong, the Speedcross or Mission are lighter and preferable for dry and warm weather, but come cold and rain, nothing beats these Crossmax CS.

I purchased this shoe in May 2012 after wearing a Salomon hiking shoe for winter walks. I over-pronate and have problems with both knees, so I have corrective orthotics. I wore these shoes with and without my orthotics and decided they felt better without. After two weeks I went on a month-long tour in Europe and these shoes were the ONLY pair of shoes I took on the trip. I continued to wear them without orthotics until mid-August 2012, when I started to have a twinge of pain in one knee. I took out the Salomon footbed, inserted my corrective orthotics and just completed a 6 mile run in the same shoes I have worn for walking all summer. I do have Brooks running shoes, but I'm going to buy another pair of these Salomon's for walking or running. I really can't believe how much wear I have put on them without any problems with my feet or knees. I took my orthotics along to Europe, but never took them out of my bag...I am still in awe. Some things I had to deal with: these shoes were hot for summer, but with good socks...no blisters; Salomon shoes run at least a half size large; I like the lacing system, but the cords are too long and at least in this particular shoe it's hard to get the extra laces into the pocket. I ended up just tucking the toggle into the laces.

This is a well constructed shoe. The pull-up tie worked nicely. My own orthotics fit in place, but the footbed of this shoe was uncomfortable. Sadly I have to return this shoe.

On the positive side, the shoes are warm and seem to be well-built. But I feel like I'm walking in shoe boxes. I was looking for sneaker-like shoes for cool weather. These don't work for me. These run very large, get one size smaller.
