These boots are warm, so cute with the stripes on the back and full felt lining inside. A little roomy for thick socks, I wear a 6.5 usually so I ordered a 7, perfect. The cushion in the bottom is amazing! So comfortable, almost like a wide pair of sneakers. I had to send them back only for the goring in the back; the stripe is the only thing separating that from the felt lining. I believe even if you use a water repellent treatment on the fabric and the boot it would still get wet, which would get the felt wet, which would get your sock/leg wet. The felt also has a long slit all the way from the ankle area to the top of the goring/stripe to help with the stretch of the goring stripe. So even though it would keep you warm, I feel as though if you were to step in high enough snow that the fabric will get wet really quickly. I need more of an outdoor winter boot with style for walking around town with the added protection if I want to play in the snow. So I sent them back for the Sorel Cate the Great. If I had more opportunities to wear this I would probably have kept it, but as it is I need a double duty boot. This sadly doesn't fit the bill.
