I ordered these
shoes thinking they were good arch/metatarsal support. The way to tell is to bend the toe to the heel. I did this, and they went all the way back to the heel. I had a pair of
Birkenstock clogs before. They have incredible arch support, so my feet can no longer wear flat
shoes. These
shoes were flat. It's good with insoles, though. They feel sturdy under your feet, and they break in to your walking habit within the first ten minutes of walking on something hard (i.e., pavement or tile or hard wood). They look pretty good, and make you taller, because of the
sole (which is a good thing, because they will last longer). The stinky thing is the size. First, I got a size 5. Way too small. Then I got a size 5 1/2. A little too big, so my feet are slipping when I walk. But, the slipping is reduced with insoles, because my feet comfily slide up to the roof of the shoe, making it ever so slightly tighter, but not too tight and, again, reduces slipping. They have some pretty lengthy laces, but I just tuck them in my
shoes for good measure and better style. Navy blue looks good. These
shoes are great (unless you have high-arched feet).
