When I saw these
shoes I thought great, exactly what I need. A good-looking, pump-style shoe suitable for walking around in this challenging Seattle-area climate. Feminine but with a somewhat rugged
sole which I love on these wet sidewalks here in the NW, and a combination of mixed media materials of polyester and spandex in the body of the shoe to give it a modern look and provide a flexibility that other material does not offer – and can be cleaned off with a damp cloth when need be, plus built to
SoftWalk high-standards – which means they wear like iron and last a long time. Last time I ordered a
SoftWalk shoe it was the Dakota, which is about the same heel height as this Mendi– that time the size 8.5 N Dakota fit perfectly, so that’s what I ordered this time in the Mendi. But it did not fit nearly as well. The 8.5 N was too long, and my heel slipped out, so I monkeyed around with it a bit by first putting gel pads in and then tried a full-
sole pad. Neither solved the problem. It just made for a tight fit overall and the heel still slipped. The thought of ordering an 8 N did occur to me but judging by the fit of the 8.5 N, I believed my heel would still slip out of the 8 N. Regretfully I returned the shoe. BTW, another review mentioned something about the black of the black rubber
sole rubbing off all over her carpet and I just want to say that I have a light cream color carpet and walked on it in this shoe with absolutely no problem. Even ran the
sole of the shoe over a white cotton blouse and over my white down comforter and
guess what, nothing like that happened. Gave it 5 Stars overall because if the shoe fit, it would be a great choice.
