I have worn several generations of the
Mizuno Wave Rider. The Wave Rider 14
lost me, however. The toe box was too narrow and the volume in the instep far too low. Having a high instep, the laces and tongue on the Rider 14 choked my foot. I couldn't wear that shoe even for just walking or standing because it was that incompatible with my foot shape. Thankfully,
Mizuno has revamped its Wave Rider 15. It fits much more like previous models, and it's noticeably roomier than the Rider 14. I chose the shoe in lavender because it seemed like the least conspicuous option for day-to-day wear. Please note that the yellow shade is more subdued in life than in photographs. I always purchase my running
shoes about a half-size larger than my actual foot size. The size 10 seems true to size and, if anything, the B width seems slightly roomy. I imagine those with borderline narrow feet will definitely need to order the narrow width. Those with high insteps will rejoice that the Wave Rider 15 has more volume and fits much more like the Rider 12 and 13.
