My feet are flat and fairly wide, so it is a challenge finding dress sandals that do not look stupid on my feet and and feel good. These do both. I absolutely love these sandals. Born is, I think, my new favorite brand of
shoes. I cannot fault these sandals at all except that maybe after a while the leather will stretch and then it may be too loose. The heel strap / slingback on this one is not very snug and does not come up very high on the back of your heel, so if that bothers you,
keep that in mind. But it does do the job of keeping your sandal in place. I think it could get away with not having as much elastic on the back, because it is not snug at all as it comes, and only allows for a couple more levels of adjustment tighter. So again, if it stretches or the elastic loses its elasticity and gets all stretched out. I wore these for several hours right off the bat and had no achiness or pinching or anything. They are superb
shoes. The arch was in the right place for me, was not too flat or too severe. For the height of the heel, they do not feel very high when you have them on and the
shoes are very stable due to the wide stacked heel and the amount of leather coverage on your foot. other
shoes I tried were
Clarks Trophy Place in brown (too narrow across the vamp and too loose heel strap, and I am not a fan of Velcro closures. But they have great style and construction and everything else), Born Karisa in the light brown (great fit, comfort, style, but just did not look right on me) and Earth Camellia in brown (too severe arch, and my foot bulged out strangely through the gap in the outer vamp, leather did not hug my feet but had gaps in places where it also bulged out away from my foot). I finally bit the bullet and tried the Born Frederique and am so glad that I did.
