First and foremost, these
shoes are gorgeous. No one who sees you in them will be able to
keep from complimenting you on how nice they are. Aside from their beauty, they're a very well made pair of
Cole Haan saddle oxfords. Not a pretty pair of cheep
Stacy Adams that feel like you're wearing two
bricks on your feet with no support. The
Nike Air soles truly make a difference while
on your feet all day. I wear an 11M in J&M and although the 11M Cole Haan's felt a little tight when I first put them on, they stretched just a bit and fit perfect shortly after putting them on for the first time. That said, like most new leather
shoes, they're going to take a little time to wear in and the first few times you wear them your feet will likely be a little sore. Unlike a nice pair of brown calfskin wingtips, these
shoes will need a bit more TLC. Although they're made of nubuck and are quite durable, you'll want to do some pre-wear preventative maintenance on the
shoes. Do yourself a favor and purchase a nubuck brush and some nubuck/suede water and stain repellent. If you don't take the precaution of spraying them down with the protectant, you'll wish you had shortly after the first wear. You can't imagine the things that will find their way to the ultra white surface of the
shoes. In the event you get a stain on them, the first course of action is to let the stain dry and then use an eraser (a white Pentel Click Eraser will work great or you can use a traditional Papermate Pink Pearl eraser) to rub out the stain. It's amazing how well it works. If that doesn't work, pick up a bottle of nubuck cleaner. If you're considering these
shoes, make the leap and buy them. You won't be sorry. They're a great addition to the collection.
