I'm looking for a biz-casual shoe/bootie that looks great with slacks, leggings, long skirts, that's a little funky but not crazy funky. They had to be comfortable when I'm on my feet for work. I really wanted these to be the ones, because looks-wise they filled the bill: They are quality looking, pretty
shoes, a lovely shade of dark brown, liked the ruche detail. I've never owned
Sofft shoes before so I can't compare, but I found these to be very buttery leather, with only the toe tip and the back heel hard (as it should be, in my opinion). They felt comfortable, no initial rubbing, pinkie-toe crowding, pinching anywhere, and didn't hit under my ankles as some can. But these are just my deal-breakers -- others may not agree. The heel is 3 1/2", and I've now officially discovered that my "day comfort" zone stops at 3". These are just tall enough to make my big toe joint ache when walking. My only other issue: I wear a steady size 7, very occasionally a 6.5. These were size 7, and although they didn't feel too big on me when standing (distance of toe to front, etc.), when I walked my heels picked right up out of the shoe and made my whole walk feel unstable (plus could
end up rubbing after longer wear). I also found I could slide the shoe right off my foot without unzipping. Sigh. Back they go. Perfect shoe for someone else!
