First of all, the Rockport Ed shoes were my first experiences with both Zappos and Rockport. The former seems to be a good, prompt business, but this review is intended to focus on the latter -- specifically, I bought Rockport Editorial Office shoes, extra-wide, men's 10.5, in black. Thank goodness for Rockport. Best of luck finding attractive dress shoes if you happen to have an "unusual" size like mine. I visited a dozen higher-end shoe stores in central Texas, and always got a blank (or piteous) stare when I asked for 4E / extra-wide. Back on point, I needed comfortable black dress shoes to accompany my new black suit, for a wedding in Manhattan. The Rockport Eds were/are exceptionally easy on the feet. I stood, I danced, I drank booze, I walked all over the borough, I danced some more while singing karaoke, I staggered around seeking out street felafel stands, and so forth. My feet were perfectly comfortable, and they did not punish me the following day, after an active night of tooling around in dress shoes. Thanks again to Rockport. I hope someone from their organization happens upon this review. Thank you, thank you for producing a product for my (apparently) niche market needs.

These are great shoes! I was really uncomfortable with those expensive inflexible shoes that I was wearing before. You guys have the best service of anyone. When we telephone, you let us talk to a real person - one who is pleasant and willing to do whatever it takes. It is wonderful! My wife and I both love Zappos!

This was a gift for my son. He likes the look, the comfort, and the fact that the shoes come in narrow width.

These shoes arrived promptly, fit properly, and were just what I wanted and expected. I had been unable to find them in any local store I visited.

Choosing shoes used to be easy. Back in the the day, Rockport offered just a few styles, all good looking and comfy. Styles have proliferated in recent years, and the search for a basic, classy dress shoe has become much more complicated. As dress shoes go, this is a bit on the "clunky" side, not as refined-looking as some. Maybe it's that squared off toe. I would have preferred something a bit rounder, but not too elongated, but I couldn't find that particular needle in the haystack. And these don't seem quite as supple as my last pair of Rockports. Overall: falls a bit short on both styling and comfort, but perfectly okay.
