These shoes are very well constructed. I like the fact that the sole is not too thick, unlike some other similar shoes. My five year old daughter, who is very sensitive about comfort, loves putting them on. My daughter's feet measure in between size 28 and 29 using the UMI shoe size chart (you can download from their website). We debated between ordering size 29 or 30, and went with the 30. We are about to fit slightly more than a finger's length between her heel and the back of the shoe. So technically size 29 would have been a better fit, with room to grow. It seems like UMI does factor in "room for growth" even when you order the correct measurement.

My daughter picked these out for her primary school shoe. I know that Umi sizes run differently than what I normally by in US brands. Her foot measures 8" and I tested it against Zappos printable size chart. I ordered the EUR 32 US 1. The shoes were huge! I measured then on the same size chart and the measure a US 4.5 Be prepared when ordering. Thankfully Zappos has a wonderful shipping/return/exchange policy. I am taking full advantage of it by ordering the next two sizes down to get the right fit. Thank you, Zappos, for providing quality product with no hassle purchasing!

Although cute the shoes fell apart in less than a month. Really glad I purchased these through Zappos or I'd be stuck with garbage. The patent leather portion creases and peels away from the shoe. Seems a serious design flaw and I'm surprised no one else had this problem. We purchased in the larger size but I could see a little one who drags their toes destroying these shoes also.

The shoes came way too big; the size chart is incorrect. Very upset plus the quality is not what it used to be from UMI. Blah. Never again from a long time customer.
