Before purchasing this item, I only knew of Zappos.com as the online "shoes
" site. I was surprised to find out that Zappos.com also carried fragrances, as well as, many other items. I purchased this gift set as a gift to a friend. The pricing of the item was slightly cheaper than what the cost I would incur if I bought it at a major department store but having the packaged delivered to me free of charge was the deciding factor in placing my order with Zappos.com. The reason for the 3 star rating has to do with the condition of the box the fragrance came in. The box looked like the package got slammed to the ground
which caused crease marks and cracks in the box that I was afraid would cause a paper cut because they were jagged. I didn't have time return the package because friend's birthday was fast approaching, so I repackaged it in something else... which might have actually worked out better. I would still use and recommend Zappos.com The rating only reflects how I felt about the value and condition of the package, not my overall view of the company as a whole. I'm not doubting the reputation of this company or their return/refund policy but if you are looking for a gift to send and you are meticulous and particular about the condition of the item you are purchasing, maybe I would stick to brick and mortar stores. I was relieved that I had the gift sent to my home instead of directly to my friend. I would have been embarrassed and this review would sound very different. On a different note, if the item was some hugely discounted/seasonal item, I may not have cared so much about the condition of the package. I would have just focused on the condition of the contents, But considering that I almost
paid retail value, I just expected a little more TLC with my package.
