This thing is awesome! It blends smoothly and very quickly. You can tell the motor is powerful. It works on more than liquids too. I have made blended soups, guacamole (with the blender attachment) and the smoothest mashed potatoes. It takes less than a minute to blend each (30 seconds for soup) and I have had no issues with lumps at all. The only minor drawback is that it is loud, but that is to be expected with a powerful motor. It is still quieter than my traditional standing blender. It is also easier to clean than I expected. Overall, I am extremely pleased with the Viking hand blender. I am not one to spend money on non essentials, but this one has proved its worth.

I am enjoying the Viking VHB300 Hand Blender. The only thing I am disappointed with is that it is very difficult to detach the parts from the main (motor) section.

Terrible. Despite the fact that it's heavy, bulky and unbearably loud, I kept it. But last night I made salad dressing in the mini-processor attachment. It did a barely passable job of pureeing the garlic. But when I washed the lid attachment, it filled with water which I can't get out. Now dirty, soapy water is dripping out one drip at a time, right into the processor bowl and whatever food is in it. Yum!! When I called Viking customer service, they told me that the lid is not supposed to be put in water; it's just supposed to be "wiped with a damp cloth". Seriously?? It was completely coated with oil, mustard and raw garlic. I'm not supposed to wash it? Gross. Viking did offer to replace the piece without any cost to me. But not being able to properly wash it is a complete deal killer. Zappos stepped up and is letting me return the whole thing. Thank goodness for Zappos excellent customer service. Viking gets 1 star. Zappos gets 5!
