The
Fitzwell Tad Convertible Wind Jacket is much better than anticipated. I have been looking for a casual jacket with zip-off sleeves. I wanted a solid color jacket which I could not find but I actually like the contrasting stripes. The jacket is very comfortable and lightweight. I like the velcro/elastic sleeves to adjust the fit. The collar is just the right height as not to dig in the back of your neck or head. The sleeves have a smooth lining while the rest of the jacket has mesh lining. The back is vented to
keep you cool on warmer days. The two hand pockets zip to
keep your items secure and there is a larger left interior, zip pocket for extra secure storage. The bottom of the jacket has cinch ties to
keep the elements out. Overall, this has been a good purchase and well-made jacket. Light rain and drizzle roll off and the wind is kept out. As for the size, the Tad Convertible is true to size with just the amount of room for light layer (like a sweatshirt) to
keep you warmer when the temperature drops. With all good things there is usually one issue that could use some altering. Although I like the fact that the sleeves zip off to become a vest,
keep in mind this in not only the individual sleeves. The way this jacket is manufactured has both the sleeves and outer back connected; the sleeves zip off and the outer back has several velcroed areas keeping it attached. When removed, the back will only have a lot of the mesh showing from the shoulder blades down. This is fine in hotter weather, but if you want a vest in cooler weather, you will definitely be cooler in the back. If the mesh back, in vest mode does not bother you, then you won't be disappointed in purchasing this
Fitzwell Jacket. Hope this helps in your decision-making.
