Wonderful for over pronators! Shoes fit well, although the lateral position of lacing eyelets was a bit of a surprise. Overall, great shoe.

My husband is now on his third pair of these shoes! He hasn\'t switched brands since he was first fitted for them by a knowledgable shoe salesman. He walks a lot on his job and has found these shoes to be the most comfortable. They are comfy, lightweight, and don\'t make his feet sweat like most other shoes do.

I have had a pair of Ultra 102 for years and love them. The soles were worn smooth, so it was time to upgrade. I was excited to find the line was still produced. The toe box seems to be narrower than the 102, so considerably less comfortable for wider feet. Although there are two sets of lacing eyes, the shoes really seem designed to use the wider pattern (for narrower feet). The shoe ends up looking like the zip-up basketball shoes when the inner eyelets are used. The top set of eyes have been redesigned and are no longer as reinforced as they were and are not conducive to a lock-style lacing, great for reducing heel slipping when hiking; these are more like regular running shoes. I do not know if I am going to keep my 104s; the qualities that I loved in the 102s seem to be lost.

Great shoes! I use them as approach/hiking shoes and they work great. Very comfortable and really durable. Don't hesitate to buy.

I ran on a local trail with my normal running shoes and was left with some pain the arch of my foot. I found these shoes, I just assumed The North Face would be a good brand and the price was pretty good. I've used the shoes on trails several times now and find them to be very comfortable and sturdy. Most importantly, I have had no foot pain since. I highly recommend.

I've only taken these on a couple of hikes now. I can't give an accurate review because I ordered them a half size too big. They still work ok for day hikes. Good traction. I really like the shoes just wish they were a little smaller.

I was most impressed by the service that Zappos offers through their website and through their personal customer service. I ordered my normal size at a 10.5 and found that I still needed a 1/2 size larger. Not only did the service agent complete my order, but sent the second pair of shoes to my doorstep the next day, which allowed me the pleasure of trying both pairs together. I did opt for the next 1/2 size up. These shoes are comfortable like tennis shoes, but tough like hiking boots. I wore them on a Boy Scout camping trip the very next weekend and was impressed with the comfort and durability. They are great for light hiking and also simple casual wear. I can feel a decent amount of arch, which is good for hiking and good for a person with normally flat feet. I would recommend these shoes for the outdoor enthusiasts as well as any Boy Scout preparing for a long week of walking a hiking at Summer Camp. These shoes are much more cool than the normal leather hiking boots.

Bad wet-surface traction - I got these shoes for daily wear and for day hikes. But, contrary to the manufacturer claims, I found the traction on wet hard surfaces, like wet rocks, to be extremely disappointing. I have an old pair of Reebok running (road) shoes that now have virtually flat soles, but they have better wet traction than these. The dry surface traction is excellent, though. I think the sole material is too hard to give good traction on wet rocks.

Best Adventure Shoe Ever! Got these for an overall adventure shoe (hiking, running, climbing). Best shoe choice I've ever made!! They are truly perfect. I feel like I can run forever in these. NOTE: Have not tested them in rain or water yet. Very good in snow, excellent traction.

Fit, Comfort and Look - Great On All Fronts - Ordered these for everyday use and have been very happy after a week of use. Good fit and very comfortable, though I can't honestly say they're worth all that money. Regardless, I'm pleased with my purchase and would recommend these shoes.

A little bit sweet, a little bit sexy. Comfy and cute. The first time I put these on, I walked about a mile and a half and it was hot, but no chafing or hurting. The only reason I didn't give 5 overall stars is because I got a little ding in the fabric on the front in that amount of time. Not sure if that was a fluke, or if they are not as sturdy as they could be. Seems really good quality though. A little bit sweet, a little bit sexy. Just right. I'm really pleased with these shoes.

Just got this shoe last night. Was wearing it around the store while looking for other shoes. Very comfy, a must have. I can't wait to wear them. Will go well with jeans, a dress, or even for casual Fridays at work. Love the sunset color as well - nice change to regular solid wedge colors.

I need to add - I need to add something to my previous review, size down a 1/2 size...or the sandal will be too loose.
