Inspired by simple observations of nature and the merino sheep, Icebreaker was driven to develop the world's first merino layering system. Merino wool is a light fabric that provides enhanced breathability and performance while repelling odor-causing bacteria, providing the benefits of synthetic fibers without the smell.

Icebreaker clothing is made from 100 percent pure merino shorn from free-range merino sheep living on high country stations, in New Zealand's Southern Alps. Icebreaker was first in the world to pioneer merino fabric for outdoor and activewear, and continues to lead this clothing category.

The Icebreaker is a system of PURE MERINO LAYERS. Each piece can be worn solo in warm climates, or layered for insulation against the extremes. When you layer your Icebreaker with more Icebreaker, you increase wind resistance and warmth, and it breathes like you do.
