Eagle Creek® was born in the San Jacinto Mountains of California where Steve and Nona Barker ran a retail store called Mountain People and sewed custom mountain packs. In 1975, they turned their energy full-time to pack manufacturing and the name Eagle Creek was chosen. Since its beginning, innovation, durability, and craftsmanship have been an integral part of the brand's DNA. Eagle Creek was first to market with the concept of "adventure travel" and has always made gear for active adventurous souls. Their mission was to prove that travel didn't have to be one of the leading causes of chronic lower back pain; that you could visit remote parts of the world without giving up every bastion of civilization; and that all of this could be fun. It's a simple mission statement that has served Eagle Creek well. Eagle Creek likes to think that they've made the last 30 plus years of adventure travel a little easier than the first few thousand.

Just like a growing child, the Eagle Creek brand has evolved and grown in monumental ways. In 1996, Eagle Creek introduced the Pack-It™ System, a series of folders, cubes, and sacs that organized travelers worldwide by changing the way people pack. Then in 2003, Eagle Creek launched its Exploration System collection; luggage and bags built for far-flung travels. Thanks to the unparalleled No Matter What™ Warranty, travelers can depend upon their Exploration System luggage knowing that it will be taken care of in case anything happens. With deep care for Mother Earth, Eagle Creek took a major step toward product sustainability in 2009 with the introduction of EcoLite™ fabric to Pack-It™ System products. The following year, the brand introduced the first of its e Series fabrics in its pinnacle Exploration System collection. To that end, Eagle Creek strives to make wheeled luggage, duffels and Adventure Travel Packs that last a lifetime, which means the products inevitable stay out of the landfill that much longer.
