For the purpose of review, I tried to find fault with this, but can't. It's awesome, I love this backpack. I use it every day for commuting from suburbs to D.C. via shuttle and metro plus walking, all told three hours+/day. It's perfect for long commutes. I wanted something that had a built in cooler for my lunches and a separate padded area for my mini laptop. That space itself accommodates my mini, cords and a digital camera. The middle compartment is spacey enough to fit a hardcover book or Kindle, a notebook, two book size packets that contain all my small items,a scarf, a shirt, and an umbrella. The small organizer in the outside middle takes a lot of stuff, and the sunglass case is perfect for my Samsung galaxy and a sunglasses case. The outside side pockets take the rest. I'm super organized and can find things quickly and easily. The material is solid and seems made to last. I like the design, it's colorful and feminine, but dark enough to hide the dirt. The only question I had was during a heavy rainstorm, not sure this is waterproof but it seemed to repel light rain (under an umbrella). And I reasoned the laptop sleeve was closest to my back and therefore better off than anything else. The cooler can accommodate a fair amount. For me it's a sandwich size Tupperware and a juice box with a little room to spare. I've even fit a salad cup in there; think the size of a 20 oz.soda cup. Not a big gulp but sufficient for my needs. I love this backpack and highly recommend it.

Dakine makes very good products, worth the extra money, but even better if you buy on sale. My 15" Mac Book Pro has tons of space and is well protected which was my first priority. I also wanted it to have a chest strap for times when carrying very heavy things. There's good storage space. It doesn't look like a huge bag, but my 11 x 14 sketchbook fits. The soft lining in the sunglasses pocket and the insulated pocket for lunches are both very clever features, too.

I bought this pack to replace the prom. It's listed as being bigger but the main body is slimmer and therefore doesn't hold more where it counts. Unless the space is in the height. It's a tall bag. Overall a good pack.

I am very happy with this backpack. I am using it for work and it is perfect. There are enough pockets without having too many making it easy to organize. Very comfortable to carry through airports as well.

I have been buying Dakine backpacks for some time now. This is the third that I have purchased over the years. My daughter uses it for school since about the first grade. She is now going to the ninth. They are very durable and last for a good long time.
