About Converse Work
Marquis M. Converse opened the Converse Rubber Shoe Company in Malden, Massachusetts in 1908 and started out with winterized footwear for men, women, and children. Soon after, a consistent line of sports performance and sport-inspired footwear including canvas shoes for tennis, Chuck Taylor® All Star® basketball shoes and Jack Purcell® shoes were created. Through innovations, leadership and contributions, Converse® has built a shoe brand around the heritage and soul of American sports in the 20th century. Keeping up with the evolution and popularity of basketball, tennis, football, baseball and track, Converse® shoes have become a favorite worldwide.
Converse has continued that evolution with their stellar work footwear that is built from a solid foundation of high-performance outsoles that require no break-in period and lightweight materials for all-day protection against fatigue. Converse was the first company to introduce athletic styling, comfort and performance to duty uniform shoes for the U.S. military, and have continued to design shoes that have both extraordinary durability and reliable comfort. With the innovative impact-absorbing technology of the Shock Eliminator System and uncompromising comfort of the Foot Force Removable Insoles, Converse offers quality work shoes and boots that are designed to endure the wear and tear of a hard day’s work. Converse work footwear is built for athletes in uniform.
