Excellent little flats.I love these and I'm sure they'll last a long time. I agree that they're just a tiny bit big but not enough to make me buy a smaller size. I think a smaller size would be too snug. They're sturdy, comfortable, and really attractive. I'm glad I bought them.

Don't expect any arch support at all; these are completely flat inside, despite 80+% of reviews claiming otherwise. The outer soles are completely smooth leather -- I can skate on carpet in these. The leather around the toe box and heel is very stiff. These shoes make my feet look long (I'm only a 7), partly due to the toe cleavage (my toes aren't even very long). They looked super cute in the picture and I love the color choices, but I'm returning them.

Kat Mary Jane - These shoes are beautiful and as it happens, one of the few pairs that feel comfortable. I ordered size 11 since I wear 42 (European standard which corresponds variously to US size 10, 11, or 12). They are slightly bigger than my feet, but are held in place by the strap. Ditto on toe cleavage. It doesn't bother me. The leather and its color are just fantastic and I know from wearing Frye for years now that the shoe is well-made and will last awhile.

GREAT SHOE - BUT SQUEAKED!My wife loves this shoe. Everything about it. So, she tried to live with it when they began to squeak. As time went on the squeaking become more intense - to the point where she was attracting much unwanted attention. Eventually we had to exchange them and one of the new shoes also squeaked. Apparently the squeak was caused by air trapped in the glue under the soul. Because when she carefully stuck a long pin into the seam of the soul of the shoe the stopped squeaking! My wife says this shoe is a total five star except for this.

Not for Wide Feet - I love Frye shoes and boots in general and these shoes in particular, but they do not fit anyone with wide feet.

Cute Shoe!I love these flats. They are comfy and cute. I read the reviews about the toe cleavage and it is not bad at all...I guess if you have really long toes it may be an issue. Overall these shoes are adorable and they get lots of compliments.

These shoes are even cuter in person, but watch out- there is a lot of toe cleavage! I bought them in black, and they're a perfect look for work wear and jeans.

Comfortable Mary Janes - These shoes are very comfortable - the inside is soft leather and slightly padded. I'm partial to ballet flats and find these to be a great alternative because the strap helps the shoe stay on. A great casual shoe for someone who walks a lot and doesn't like to wear sneakers all the time. I walked a few miles in these on the first day and didn't hurt my feet. I bought a size 8. I normally wear size 8 in sneakers and 7.5 in heels. There was lots of room in the toe area - no squished pinkie toes!

Works well for me - I took the advice of another customer and ordered one size up. It works terrific for me. There are very few shoes I can wear due to a one spur on my foot joint. I love a low cut shoe - the toe box runs below my foot joint and is immediately comfortable. No breaking in time needed. The shoe is extremely well constructed. In my case, I can wear an orthotic and still be fashionable.

Looks better in picture - I received these yesterday and am disappointed. The review about toe-cleavage is right, and let me say it is a LOT of toe cleavage. Although the shoe fits in size the top presses down on your toes, the toe box tight and uncomfortable. I would try a larger size if they didn't look so terrible on. I am disappointed because I love Frye shoes and I need a pair of good, nice looking shoes to walk around in!

Comfortable, if you're into toe cleavage - These shoes were great and I'm sorry to have to return them. They looked nice and were quite comfortable, but had that horrid flaw of so many shoes these days: Toe cleavage. If you're into that sort of thing, by all means buy these shoes. They're damn cute. If, however, you have Hobbit feet like I do and feel that toe cleavage isn't particularly flattering, stay away from these shoes. Shame that they couldn't have cut the things just a bit higher in the front.

Comfort, Style & Quality - These little mules are designed to be slipped on and off at 30,000 feet while jammed into a crowded aircraft. They give ease of walking in the airport, ease of being inspected and "slipped off" by TSA inspectors, and yet stylish enough to be worn with contemporary travel outfits.

Blue shoe for you - This is such a comfy, cute shoe. I wanted a blue shoe for spring and I love this one. The seaming detail on the front sets it apart from other mary jane styles, plus Frye always uses beautiful leathers.

Lovely. It's a beautiful shoe, very stylish and comfortable right out of the box. Seems to run a little big, but not enough to have to send it back.

Great Shoe! These are really well crafted shoes. I love their sleek design and they work well with dressier outfits. They required a little breaking in. On first wearing, they felt a bit cramped in the toe box, but by the second wearing, they softened. I'll wear these shoes for years. With the help of a good shoemaker, they will last a lifetime.

I absolutely love this shoe!!!Most flats have very little support and although they may look great, aren't very comfortable. This shoe is the exception. Like most Frye products, it provides great support, fits like a glove and is incredibly comfy from the very first time you slip it on your foot. Not only that, I love the way this looks. This is one of my favorite casual shoes ever!!

Kind of cute - A very weird toe on this shoe, it’s kind of boxy. Overall, the shoe was adorable and fit well, but I couldn't deal with the toe outline. Be sure to check that out.

frye's cheryl studded braid - Great shoes! look stylish and modern. Very comfortable. Will make bigger feet look smaller. I wear an 8 but these shoes make my feet look like a size 6. perfect heel height, no foot strain after hours of walking on the first day out. Per usual, excellent service by Zappos!

Awesome clog!I love this shoe... Very comfortable with no break in required. I have a high arch, so usually after a few hours, my feet are aching. This shoe has great arch support and I can wear it all day! The heel height is very practical - looks great with pants & jeans and the braiding & studding detail makes it stylish.

Much cuter than the photo - These shoes are much cuter in person than in the photos. They have a very nice 60's mod style to them when you're wearing them. The bit of padding on the soles is a welcome surprise as most flat are just that- flat. My only complaint is that Frye’s sizing seems to be quite odd. I normally wear a 9.5 or 10 and ended up with a size 9 that is a bit snug and needs to breaking in. the 9.5 felt like it was at least a size bigger and was significantly wider. The sizing could work for or against you. While mine needs some breaking in to be comfy I’m still really happy with them.

A Keeper!!! After trying several pairs of flats, I fell in love with the Frye Clementine Mary Jane. The shoe is adorable and sturdy. Because it's made of leather, it feels like a solid shoe, not flimsy like a ballet slipper. It fits my foot really well, enough room for my long toes, and doesn't hurt the back of my ankle, like some flats do. My only criticism is that the sole is slippery. Otherwise, I think it's a great shoe for the money.

I have arthritis in both my feet, so I was thrilled to find a comfortable, fashionable shoe.Unfortunately, they have not worn well and the leather has already peeled on the front of the shoe. Quite an expensive disappointment! I do love Zappos and will order again.

Nice little flat - Frye makes very high quality shoes and this is no exception. The leather is very supple and soft. My only complaint was that the sole is pure smooth leather with no traction. Definitely need to scuff these up outside or you will *slide* across a carpet!

About Frye

The Frye Company was founded in 1863 by John A. Frye, a shoemaker from England. Frye is the oldest continuously operating shoe company in the United States. Frye products have a long and illustrious history. Frye boots were worn by soldiers for both sides of America’s Civil War, soldiers in the Spanish-America war, and for Teddy Roosevelt and his Rough Riders. Many New England families during the mid and late 1800’s wore Frye boots as they pioneered across the country to the West.

Frye's current Harness Boots are rooted in tradition and continue to draw influence from the Cavalry. Today the classic Harness Boot holds a place in American culture. The Frye Harness Boot has been pictured in fashion spreads internationally. In 1938, on a trip to Washington, D.C., John A. Frye's grandson and namesake met a U.S. Navy Admiral who confided that he had trouble finding the Wellington boots he liked so much. As a favor, John agreed to make him a pair. Frye continued to fill requests for these boots through the Second World War. During World War II, Frye supplied thousands of servicemen with Frye Wellington boots, known as Jet Boots, by mail order.

In the 1960's, Frye reintroduced the Campus Boot, from its 1860 original, featuring a bulky toe and chunky heel that came to epitomize the attitude and the style of the 60's and 70's. There was nothing like these "new" Frye Boots on the market, and consumers began to demand "Original Fryes." When searching for items to represent the America of the 60's, the Smithsonian Institute chose a pair of Frye Boots.

The quality of all Frye shoes is timeless. For almost 150 years, Frye leather products have continued to be benchcrafted from the finest full grain leather uppers. It takes over 190 steps to make one pair of Frye boots. Frye remains dedicated to the commitment of craftsmanship for which Frye boots and Frye shoes have been known for more than 100 years.
